Sunbeams, Daylight Savings, Rhythm and "Black Beauty"

Here at Stop Time Entertainment, we are pleased to announce the return of the SUN!  Hooray for sunshine and above freezing temperatures.  We tried really hard to keep busy over the winter with shows and videos and just getting out and introducing ourselves as much as we could.  But nothing beats some good ol' sunshine and less than frigid weather at getting our gooses.

Yesterday we changed the clocks forward 1 hour.  If you're like me and totally forgot, take a moment and do it now before you forget again!  Luckily, technology has saved me from manually having to change the time, so i'm safe for another year.

...Speaking of stopping time, we've got a brand spankin' new rhythm section joining Stop Time!  We are very very please to announce that we have brought a very talented Upright Bass Player and funky Drummer to the fold to make up the Stop Time Rhythm Section!  We will have a more formal introduction coming soon, so everyone can get the scoop, but we are so exciting to have them and can't wait to show you how we swing it!

And just as a further treat, here's a new video of Sean playing The Duke's "Black Beauty.  This song was composed by Duke in 1928 as a musical portrait of singer, dancer, and comedienne Florence Mills.  It was one of the few piano solo pieces he wrote and it became one of his signature songs.  Florence Mills was widely popular and was an icon of her time. She was known as the "Queen of Happiness" for her wit, charm and bubbling personality.  Mills is credited with having been a staunch and outspoken supporter of equal rights for African Americans, with her signature song "I'm a Little Blackbird" being a plea for racial equality, and during her life Mills shattered many racial barriers.
